Matcha green tea has a rich history within the Japanese culture of tea drinking ceremonies.
Literally, matcha means “finely powdered tea”.
The main difference between matcha and traditional green tea is that when you drink matcha you consume the whole leaf, which contains an abundance of chlorophyll, giving the vibrant green color, higher concentrations of antioxidants, and additional nutrients that are not consumed when you make normal green tea.
Our matcha is sourced from certified organic plantations that use young green tea leaves which are covered with shade cloths before they’re harvested. These leaves are hand selected, steamed briefly to stop fermentation, and then dried and aged in cold storage which deepens the flavor. The dried leaves are then stone-ground into a fine, rich green powder.
We are positive that you will love this delectable, vibrantly colored tea.
Matcha has a wide variety of uses. It makes a great addition to smoothies and can be used in many baked goods as well. Discover how to prepare a delicious matcha latte in the comfort of your own home.
